Man faces DWI after backing into police car

GLENS FALLS, NY - At approximately 3:12 a.m. today a vehicle driven by Jovan C. Montgomery, 36, of Albany, struck a Warren County Sheriff Patrol Vehicle on Glen Street in the City of Glens Falls.

Montgomery had made a right turn off of South Street and stopped in the highway when he thought he was going the wrong way.  Montgomery attempted to back up and backed into the patrol vehicle which had also made a right hand turn onto Glen Street. The patrol vehicle was stopped when Montgomery backed into it. There were no injuries from the crash.

An investigation revealed that Montgomery was intoxicated and subsequently arrested.  He submitted to a chemical analysis of his breath which showed a BAC of .13%.

He was released to appear in Glens Falls City Court at a later date.
