Police: Man faces numerous charges after fleeing from police


STILLWATER, N.Y. – A Clifton Park man was arrested on Saturday after allegedly fleeing from police.

Stillwater Police say Jeffery Parker, 28, is accused of fleeing a vehicle stop on Hudson Avenue and refused to stop for police. Parker continued to drive, nearly striking a Mechanicville Police unit head-on, say authorities.

According to police, Parker continued to travel through Stillwater, Mechanicville, and Halfmoon before finally coming to a stop in D and R Mobile Home Park. Police say the man then fled on foot.

Following a foot pursuit, Parker was taken into custody. He was charged with Reckless Endangerment 1st degree, Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer, Reckless Driving, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd degree, Operating with a Suspended Registration, Failure to Comply, and a number of other Vehicle and Traffic violations. The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office and Mechanicville Police have also lodged an additional 18 charges against Parker.

The man was arraigned, and sent to Saratoga County Jail with $20,000.00 bail bond.
