Rensselaer man arrested for cocaine sales


EAST GREENBUSH, NY - Police have arrested George A. Cotugno, of Rensselaer, after a months long investigation into local cocaine distribution.

Mr. Cotugno was charged Friday afternoon with 5 Felony Counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance. In the criminal complaint drawn by Detective Sgt. Matthew Breig, Cotugno is accused of running a brisk cocaine business by repeatedly taking and filling orders for cocaine from people he knew.

Cotugno resides on First Street, Rensselaer. Rensselaer City Police and State Police assisted with the investigation

Cotugno was arraigned by East Greenbush Town Justice Kevin Engle and remanded to the County Jail. His court case will resume on March 20th.
