ALBANY, N.Y. - U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand has announced an initiative to expand tax deductions and credits for child care costs.
Senator Gillibrand is working to more than double the dependant and child care tax credit.
The current maximum tax credit is 35-percent. The new legislation called "The Right Start Child and Education Act" would increase it to 50-percent.
Right now, New York is ranked second least-affordable for full-time infant care.
