St. Patrick’s Day 2014 Events

With St. Patrick's Day coming up on a Monday this year, many celebrations will be taking place the weekend before and continuing into the next.

Below is a list of local ways to celebrate the holiday. And if you have an event you'd like to add, please leave a comment below.


Albany St. Patrick's Day Parade

Saturday, March 15.

A mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church on Central Avenue before the parade starts. The parade will begin at 2 p.m. at Quail Street and Central Avenue.

Irish American Heritage Museum

Saturday, March 15.

Family fun will take place with information on St. Patrick and Irish tradition. Crafts, storytelling, and more will be available for kids. The story of St. Patrick will be told at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m.

O'Tooles Restaurant and Pub

Saturday, March 15.

The Second annual Celtic Bash will take place between 6a.m. and 11 p.m. The event opens with a $4 breakfast followed by three bands, drink specials, and giveaways.


Live music (Olde News Band) Saturday night at Blackthorne Resort Bar in the heart of the Catskill's Irish Country- East Durham!


Uncle Marty's Adirondack Grill in Averill Park

Saturday, March 15.

The celebration will take place from 9a.m. until 9 p.m. Featuring the first annual Kilt Run, kids Shamrock Shuffle Race, and performance by the Dancers of An Clar and music by Back 40 Band.

Danu at Troy Music Hall

Sunday, March 16.

A traditional Irish ensemble will play at 4 p.m.

Hair Of The Dog at Revolution Hall

Monday, March 17

The Irish band will play in Troy at 8p.m.



Block Party at Pinhead Susan's

Saturday, March 15.

The party begins at 2 p.m. at the Schenectady Irish pub. The event will include performances by What She Said, Greenstreet, and Headroom.

Katie O'Byrne's

Saturday, March 15.

The annual block party will take place Saturday with an Irish-themed menu through Monday.

Sunday the 16th 1-2 PM "Children's story circle" Free food for participating children. Pub will be open featuring Irish beer's , Irish entertainment (music and dancer's) & Irish food available from 3-8PM

Monday the 17th noon-11 PM- Irish food from noon-8 PM , open pub, Irish music and dancer's.


St. Patrick's Day Party at Irish Times in Saratoga Springs

Monday, March 17

The daylong celebration begins at 9 a.m. with breakfast and an Irish buffet will be offered all day. Irish dancers and bagpipers will also be in attendance.
