GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. – A Gloversville man was arrested on Monday on charges stemming from an incident that occurred earlier this month.

Gloversville Police say they observed Branden Canty, 29, operating a vehicle on Washington Street. Officers were aware that Canty was out on bail from a felony charge back in October. A warrant was out for Canty's arrest for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree and Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree.

Police say that on March 3, Canty resisted arrest by leading officers on a foot pursuit and struggling with them in an attempt to not be handcuffed. He was taken into custody and arraigned on March 3. Later, Canty was released on bail.

On March 10, Canty turned himself in and was charged with resisting arrest and traffic infractions from the March 3 incident.
