Man accused of raping mentally disabled woman


WARRENSBURG, N.Y. – A man in Warren County has been accused of raping a mentally disabled woman.

According to the Warren County Sheriff's Office, an investigation into the rape incident began in February in Warrensburg.

Police say they have arrested Richie Love Montanez, 28. He has been charged with rape in the 2nd degree, a felony.

Authorities say Montanez was found to have had sexual intercourse with a female that is mentally disabled and unable to consent to sex. The victim was allegedly known to Montanez.

He has been arraigned and remanded to the Warren County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000 cash or $40,000 bond for bail.
