TUPPER LAKE, N.Y. – A reward is now being offered to any person who provides information leading to the location of Colin Gillis.

Gillis left his parent's home on Country Club Road on March 10, 2012 around 8:30 p.m. State Police say the boy told his parents he was going to spend time with his friends.

Gillis was given a ride from a friend to a home on Lincoln Avenue. He then traveled with other friends to a party on Paskungameh Road.

State Police say about 40 people attended the same party as Gillis. The party ended in the early morning hours of March 11.

Gillis was seen walking from the party to the intersection of Paskungameh Road and State Route 3. Gillis turned left and walked alongside State Route 3 toward the Town of Piercefield. He was last seen walking westbound by motorists on the road.

A motorist reported the boy walking alone in the area to the Tupper Lake Police Department. Authorities notified State Police and were unable to find a person on foot. Since March 11, Gillis has not been seen.

Family and friends began searching for Gillis on March 11, which included New York State Police and the New York State Forest Rangers who directed the land search for several weeks. State Police say items belonging to Gillis were found along State Route 3 during the search.

Searches from the air, land and water continued throughout that spring and into the summer, failing to locate the boy.

State Police say anyone who witnessed Colin Gillis or interacted with him on State Route 3 should contact the State Police BCI Unit in Ray Brook at 518-897-2000.

Citizens are reminded by police to not assume that the information has already been provided to Investigators if they have not personally reported it.

The Gillis family has offered a $25,000 reward to be given to any person that provides relevant and useful information that leads to the location of Colin Gillis.
