Candlelight vigil to be held for missing Shaker graduate

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Members of the Capital Region Indian Community will gather on Sunday to support the loved ones of Shaker High School's graduate who is missing in Florida.

Earlier this week, it was reported to The Bay County Sheriff's Office in Florida that Reny Jose, 21, was missing.

Authorities say Jose was last seen on Monday at 7 p.m. His friends told authorities that he went for a walk in the evening from the rented beach home but never returned.

Jose's clothing and personal items were found in a garbage can near the home, including his cell phone.

The Sheriff's Office said it is possible Jose took drugs prior to his disappearance and that he may have a history of drug use.

People taking part in Sunday's vigil will light candles at noon at the Hindu Cultural Center on Albany Shaker Road.

Anyone with information about Reny Jose is asked to contact the Bay County Sheriff's Office at 850-747-4700.
