Troy Police Officer injured during arrest

TROY, N.Y. - A Troy Police Officer is recovering from a broken hand, an injury that happened while trying to make an arrest earlier this week.

According to the department, two officers were called to a home in Lansingburgh on Wednesday to deal with a disturbance. While trying to calm the situation, authorities say Lester Turner Jr., 39, of Vermont, got out of control. Police say the man even stole an officer's taser.

Police were able to get the taser back and were able to arrest Turner. However, during the struggle, one of the officers hand was broken.

The department said he'll be off duty while he recovers.
