ALBANY, N.Y.—Two Albany men were sentenced to 12 years in State Prison on Thursday.

Hector Balls, 23, and La-Meik Taylor, 24, each pleaded guilty to one Count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree, a felony, on January 7.

On September 12, 2013, both Taylor and Balls approached a man and began arguing with him. Balls discharged a handgun into the air. The victim grabbed the gun to prevent it from discharging further as Taylor hit him repeatedly.

When the victim tried to flee, Taylor fired several shots at the victim, striking him in the buttocks.
