BETHLEHEM, N.Y.—A Clifton Park woman was arrested on Tuesday in reference to an embezzlement scheme.
Hillary Downey, 35, was arrested after Bethlehem Police began an investigation into missing funds at Secure Solutions LLC.
Business owner reported $70,000 was missing from accounts through fraudulent payroll records.
The investigation determined that Downey, the account manager at the office, was depositing money into her personal account between October of 2013 and February of 2014.
Downey also offered the business $10,000 to withhold information from the office of the District Attorney.
Downey was charged with Grand Larceny in the second degree, a felony, and misdemeanor counts of Compounding a Crime and Criminal Tax Fraud in the fifth degree.
Downey was sent to Albany County Jail with $15,000 bail. She is scheduled to appear in court on March 10.
