18-year-old accused of burglary for second time in less than a year


ALBANY, N.Y. - Albany Police say they have arrested an 18- year-old for a burglary that occurred on Lark Street.

On Saturday around 9:10 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Hamilton Street for a report of a man trespassing. As officers arrived to the scene, the victim told police they witnessed a black male climbing over the fences in the rear yards.

Upon investigation of the area, officers say they observed that the rear door to DeJohn's Restaurant and Pub at 288 Lark Street was open and that the suspect was inside.

Junior Jennings was taken into custody following a brief foot chase, according to Albany Police.

Jennings has been charged with Burglary 3rd, Possession of Burglar Tools, Criminal Trespass 3rd, and Petit Larceny. He was arraigned in the Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.

Albany Police say this was not the first time Jennings has been arrested in Albany for a burglary. According to authorities, on August 24, 2013, Jennings was found to be in possession of an ATV that was stolen from a burglary on Sawyer Place that occurred a day earlier. He was arrested following an investigation by Albany detectives and charged with Burglary 3rd and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th.
