COBLESKILL, N.Y. – Police have announced the arrest of a woman after a two month investigation.
According to Cobleskill Police, they arrested Misty Wayman, 38, on Monday morning on arrests warrants for grand larceny 3rd, and falsifying business records 1st, both felonies.
Authorities say that on December 31st, 2013, a complaint was filed from Wayman's employer, the Schoharie County Council of Senior Citizens Inc. The company alleges that Wayman was involved in an on-going course of theft of money from the business during her employment.
Business and financial records were subpoenaed and reviewed during the investigation. Police say they discovered Wayman allegedly stole a minimum of $4,055.87 between January 15, 2013 and November 28, 2013. She is accused of using a business credit card for unauthorized personal purchases and taking cash for her own use. Wayman allegedly stole the money from "The Everything Shoppe", a business that is owned by the Schoharie County Council of Senior Citizens.
Wayman has been arraigned and released on her own recognizance.
