Police: Man with BAC of .222% found driving in reverse


WINHALL, Vt. – Police say they have arrested a man with a BAC of nearly three times the legal limit.

On Saturday morning around 11, Winhall Police say they responded to a report from a concerned citizen of a vehicle traveling erratically and at a high rate of speed near the Stratton Mountain Resort.

Officers located a vehicle fitting the description. The operator was allegedly driving in reverse down the wrong lane of travel on Middle River Road in the town of Winhall.

Police stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Austin Foote, 25, of Fairfield, Connecticut. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Foote was extremely intoxicated with a BAC of .222%.

Foote was arrested, processed and released on citation to appear in county court at a later date.
