ALBANY, N.Y. – New York Senator Chuck Schumer thinks a new railroad agreement does not go far enough.
Federal officials made a deal with the Association of American Railroads to reduce train speed in populated areas. Schumer said the deal is a good idea except it only includes Buffalo and New York City.
Schumer also wants railroads to phase out DOT 1-11 cars by July 2014. He says the cars are dangerous.
