TROY N.Y. – Troy's Proctor's Theater is a landmark to the city that has been vacant for decades, and on Thursday morning there was an announcement regarding a future tenant for the landmark.
The Rensselaer County Regional Chamber announced they will be moving in to Proctor's Theater office space for the next 10 years.
The theater opened in 1914, and was one of the largest theaters in the Empire State at the time. In 1979 the theater was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
Lieutenant Governor is expected to join business leaders and other officials for the announcement of the new tenant that is scheduled for 10 a.m.
