High school basketball sectional semifinals

High school basketball teams played Wednesday to earn a spot in the championship game.

Argyle and North Warren boys played at the Glens Falls Civic Center. The winner of that game will face Germantown in the finals.

A pair of Class C boys match-ups follow Glens Falls. Joel Wincowski wants to lead Lake George back to a title game with a win over Saratoga Catholic. Then the top-seeded Hoosic Valley will take no Greenwich.

The Class double A boys played at the Times Union Center.

Columbia and Guilderland squared off for the third time this season. The Dutchmen won both the previous games.

The Blue Devils hope the third time is the charm. The winner will take on either Green Tech or top-seeded Shenendehowa in the finals.

"We're excited about it," Shenendehowa head coach Tony Dzikas said. "We don't want to be content just being there. We want to win it. We know their attack is very good. They're very athletic."

On the girls side, Class B teams Watervliet and Johnstown tip off first at Troy High School followed by Tamarac and Schalmont.
