MECHANICVILLE, N.Y. – Mechanicville City School District has announced that the Junior/Senior High School building Shelter in Place has been lifted.

No one was allowed in or out of the building during a Shelter in Place.

According to school officials, at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, a bomb threat was found written in the High School girls room. The Saratoga County Sheriff's Department was notified immediately resulting in the recommendation to keep students sheltered in their classrooms as the issue was addressed and the sheriff's department conducted an investigation.

As a precautionary measure, the Saratoga County Sheriff's K-9 Unit was brought in as an added layer of safety to all students and staff, and upon clearance from law enforcement, students resumed a modified schedule to accommodate the delay.

The Shelter in Place is now complete.
