Father and Son sentenced to prison for Residential Burglary

ALBANY, N.Y.—Two Albany men were sentenced to prison on Tuesday.

Michael Banks Sr., 46, was sentenced to five years in State Prison after pleading guilty to one count of Attempted Burglary in the first degree, a felony.

Michael Banks Jr. entered a residence with a pistol and rifle on June 23, 2013 and began to strike the resident who was inside at the time. After striking the resident, Banks Junior and Senior then stole an AR-15 assault rifle, an AK-47 assault rifle, multiple handguns and cocaine from inside then fled.

Banks Jr. was sentenced to 8 ½ years followed by five year of Post Release Supervision after pleading guilty to one Count of Attempted Burglary in the first degree, a felony.
