RENSSELAER, N.Y. – The Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office announced they are investigating two commercial break-ins.
According to Sheriff Jack Mahar, there were two reported burglaries on February 17. Deputies responded to burglar alarms around 7:45 p.m. at the Poestenkill Town Hall. According to authorities, Deputies noted that the suspect gained access to the building by breaking a door window pane to gain entry.
Nothing is reported missing.
Later in the same evening, authorities received a report of another break-in at the Sand Lake Clipper, a beauty parlor in the Town of Sand Lake. Deputies reported a stolen cash register and money bag. They say the suspect gained entry by prying and breaking a window lock to gain entry into the shop.
The Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office is urging residents to keep an eye on their neighborhoods and to report any suspicious activity to police.
