CENTRAL BRIDGE, N.Y. – Two Central Bridge residents have been arrested after police say they burglarized a local church.

Roger Graham, 18, and Justin Pethick, 26, were each arrested and charged with felony Burglary. Pethick faces additional charges of Petit Larceny and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. Both were arraigned and remanded to the Schoharie County Jail.

According to State Police Cobleskill, the two burglarized the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Church Street in Central Bridge. During the morning of January 27, 2014, they allegedly forcibly entered the church and damaged numerous doors, cabinets and locking mechanisms while attempting to locate items to steal. The value of the damage is approximately $18,000.

They also allegedly stole approximately $160 and two backpacks from the Boy Scout Troop 46, which maintains a storage room at the Church. Also stolen was approximately $40 from the church Family History Center.

Information developed during the investigation indicated that Pethick wore a devil mask during the burglary to conceal his identity.

The Petit Larceny charge stems from a complaint made by Apple Food and Grocery, ST-7 Central Bridge, in which Pethick is accused of stealing tobacco and cigarettes while employed there. He is also on parole.
