Additional snow expected in the Capital Region

COLONIE, N.Y. – Two to six inches of snow is expected to fall in the Capital Region Tuesday adding to the large snow banks that formed from the previous snowfall.

Over two feet of snow fell during a storm last week, and tall snow banks are still causing problems throughout the region. Many residents have experienced trouble while driving around the area because of limited visibility from the snow banks.

The large snow fall also caused complications for local fire departments as many had to dig out hydrants to gain easier access in case of an emergency.

In addition, officials warn residents of the dangers from falling icicles and melting snow from rooftops.

Temperatures are expected to rise later in the week resulting in melting snow banks. The additional snow fall may cause minor flooding in some areas.
