ALBANY, N.Y.--The UAlbany men's basketball team beat Maine on Saturday, but also helped the Coaches Cure Cystic Fibrosis cause with a win of its own.
UAlbany men's basketball helped generate nearly $5,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Northeastern New York Chapter with the help of a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, the SEFCU Money Machine and matching donations, as well as individual contributions from fans.
"The entire cystic fibrosis community is incredibly grateful to Coach Brown and the UAlbany men's basketball team for their support of the Coaches Cure CF cause. The funds and awareness raised on Saturday will go a long way in the fight against Cystic Fibrosis," said UAlbany alumni Brian Fessler.
The UAlbany coaching staff wore sweatsuits and Coaches Cure CF pins during the game against the Black Bears and will continue the trend on Wednesday night when they face Binghamton.
