HERKIMER, N.Y. -- Political battle lines are being drawn about plans for Herkimer county-based Remington Arms to expand by opening a new factory down in Alabama.
The Military Times first reported last week that there are fears the company has lost faith in the town of Ilion where Remington Arms was originally founded.
"I have been assured any out of state expansion will not affect Remington's workforce in Ilion," said State Senator James Seward. He also added that recent upgrades there show the company's commitment to New York.
Remington's expected to officially announce the plans next week.
