Saratoga Co. D.A. running for county court judge

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Saratoga County District Attorney James Murphy announced his candidacy for County Court Judge on Friday.

He made the announcement at the Holiday Inn in Saratoga Springs Friday.

The current judge, Jerry Scarano, has held the position for two decades but has now reached the mandatory retirement age of 70.

Murphy says he will be working hard until March 15, meeting with towns and cities to secure the nomination.

During the press conference Murphy said he will be a judge that is "fair, one that is balanced, one that has a high degree of integrity, one that is ethical."
