Albany Police investigate larceny, warn business owners


ALBANY, N.Y. - Albany Police say they are investigating a larceny that occurred on Broad Street.

On Wednesday around 8:45 a.m., Albany Police officers responded to a report of a larceny at Bohl Construction at 197 Broad Street.

Upon arrival, the victim told authorities that sometime between Friday February 7th at about 5:30 p.m. and Monday February 10th at about 5:00 a.m., an unknown person cut the security fence around the company's parking lot and entered the property.

According to police, the victim told them that while on the property, the suspect, or suspects, stole 15 commercial truck batteries from his company's vehicles.

Albany Police are investigating this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Albany Police Detective Division at (518) 462-8039.

Authorities say there have been similar incidents in Albany and across the Capital Region.

Police say that on Wednesday January 15, 2014 between 9:00 a.m. and Thursday January 16th at 4:30 a.m., an unknown suspect, or suspects caused damage to the battery box of a large front end loader parked at 400 Patroon Creek Boulevard. The individual(s) then allegedly stole the two batteries that were inside. This incident still remains under investigation.
