N.Y. – New York State Police have announced the arrests of 18 people as a
result of joint investigations between the New York State Police Bureau of
Criminal Investigation in Latham and the New York State Department of Labor.
The arrests are a result of the separate investigations into people who have allegedly fraudulently obtained unemployment benefits. Investigators say those arrested were collecting unemployment benefits while they were working.
to State Police, the activity dates back into 2013 in many cases. The amount of
money fraudulently collected ranged from $3,000.00 to over $22,000.00.
The following subjects have been charged with felonies Grand larceny 3rd, Falsifying business records 1st, and Offering a false instrument for filing in the 1st.
