Mexico's First Environmentally-Friendly Festival Will Take Place in the Destination March 27-29

LOS CABOS, Mexico, Feb. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Adding to a plethora of eco-friendly offerings, Los Cabos welcomes travelers to partake in the conservation of resources and environment in the destination's most interactive and sustainable event; Los Cabos Greenfest is seeking to raise awareness about saving the planet through music, fitness and wellness.

Taking place March 27-29, the three-day event will feature concerts, beach activities, water sports and pool parties. All power required for the concerts and events will be generated 100% by attendees using bicycles. Waste from the event will be recycled and repurposed to reduce the carbon footprint and a portion of the proceeds will benefit non-profit organizations.

Concerts will be held at Nikki Beach, located at the ME Cabo hotel, and will feature artists such as Lafa Taylor, DJ Laura Low, Marv Ellis and We Tribe. Other activities will include yoga, sea kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and a beach soccer tournament.

"We are proud to host the first-ever Los Cabos Greenfest and hope this event demonstrates our commitment to the environment and positions Los Cabos as one of the most eco-friendly destinations in Mexico," said Eduardo Segura, Managing Director of the Los Cabos Tourism Board. "This festival is unique in that it aims to increase the global community by bringing together locals as well as visitors to create memories through music and sustainable practices."

"There is no better place than Los Cabos to showcase nature's wonders through the activities highlighted in this festival," said Alejandro Vidal, founder and organizer of the Los Cabos Greenfest. "Every participant and attendee will leave Los Cabos Greenfest knowing they contributed to creating a more responsible and sustainable society."
