ALBANY, N.Y.-- A Massachusetts man was located by authorities in East Greenbush on Tuesday.
New York State Police located and arrested a sex offender from Massachusetts in East Greenbush after being advised that the suspect may have fled to Albany.
On February 9, Officers of Southborough Massachusetts Police Department received a complaint of sexual assaults that had been occurring. Through investigation it was determined that Robert Cerqua, 58, of Southborough was the suspect involved.
New York State Police tracked down Cerqua through surveillance at an Econo Lodge in East Greenbush. Cerqua was then transported back to Schodack.
Cerqua was charged with two counts of Rape of a Child, two counts of Indecent Assault and Battery on Person 14 or over, and one count of Dissemination of Matter Harmful to Minors. He is due back in court on February 12.
