Niskayuna native starts as Union’s new goalie

SCHENECTADY, N.Y.—Niskayuna native Colin Stevens plays his first season as the starting Dutchmen goalie.

Colin's first game as the starting goalie didn't get off to a smooth start. He took the ice for his first game and ended up with a concussion.

"It was really tough, especially that soon in the season, five minutes in the first game there but I knew what I had to do to get back on track," said Stevens.

The team went 1-2 and 2 without Stevens in goal.

When Stevens returned, the Dutchmen caught fire, winning 11 of their next 12 games.

"He's on the right path, for me to sit here and say he's the next one is not fair to him, but I will say this, he's on the right path," said head coach Rick Bennett.
