TROY, N.Y. – Troy Police have confirmed that a teenager with a suspended license hit two local college students Wednesday evening.
According to authorities, shortly before 6 p.m., Brett Dempsey, 17, took a left on red at an intersection where it is prohibited. At the same time, police say two 23-year-old pedestrians were walking from north to south and had the right of way.
Dempsey is accused of striking both Sage College students in the intersection of Third and Ferry Streets.
The two females have been treated for minor injuries.
Dempsey was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, a misdemeanor. He will be in court on Thursday.
