Closures throughout the Capital Region

Posted: Updated: Feb 13, 2014 02:54 PM

The following schools and businesses are closed due to weather conditions:

Due to weather conditions, the Empire Plaza Rink will be closed all day today, Friday, February 14.  Tonight's scheduled Rock and Skate is cancelled.  We apologize for any inconvenience.  For updates please visit or follow us on Twitter@Plazaevents.

The Village of Ballston Spa's 18th annual Winter Festival scheduled to be held on Saturday February 15, 2014 has been cancelled due to the impact of the recent severe winter storm.

Highway crews from the Village as well as form neighboring highway departments who assist the Village in constructing the sledding run have been working around the clock since the storm arrived to ensure that the highways and streets remain safe.

For the safety of these dedicated employees and our primary responsibility to maintain safe highway conditions during winter storm events, the decision to cancel the event has been made.

The Village will be evaluating the potential to reschedule this family event at a later date.

Green Day's American Idiot" will go on as planned tonight at the Palace Theatre. Doors Open at 7pm / Show Begins at 8pm.

Due to the City of Albany's Snow Removal Emergency we are encouraging all patrons to Park in the Quackenbush Garage – located just a few short blocks from the Theatre at Broadway and Orange Street (First left off 787 Exit 4B) – to avoid being ticketed or towed. Parking will be FREE at the Quackenbush Garage for all Palace Theatre Patrons by showing a ticket stub for "American Idiot" as you exit the garage after the show – courtesy of First Niagara.

For more information please refer to the Palace Theatre's Parking Page:
