Cuomo orders state agencies to prep for expected snow storm

ALBANY, N.Y. – Governor Cuomo has ordered state agencies to prepare for the impending winter storm Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Cuomo is also asking citizens to prepare properly to avoid any unnecessary travel.

"At my direction, state agencies are continuing to prepare and coordinate resources all across the state for the next winter storm that is forecasted to begin today," Governor Cuomo said.

New York State has 1,789 plows, 359 loaders and 4,185 operators stationed and ready for the storm, along with 259,605 tons of salt on hand statewide.

The New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) will have extended call center helpline hours starting on Wednesday from 7:30 AM to 7:30PM, and Thursday from 7:30AM to 7:30PM. If residents need assistance they can call 1-800-342-3377.

Cuomo has also ordered activation of the State Emergency Operation Center to monitor the storm.
