Motorist sentenced for driving recklessly

ALBANY, N.Y.--A Troy man was sentenced to one to four years in State Prison on Tuesday.

Orville Oldacre, 37, pleaded guilty to one Count of Reckless Endangerment in the first degree, a felony, on December 10, 2013.

On Interstate 787, Oldacre was observed driving erratically at a high rate of speed in excess of 100 miles per hour on September 20, 2013.

Oldacre struck another vehicle that was attempting to move out of the way as a member of the Menands Police Department followed Oldacre.

The collision forced the Trooper to jump onto the hood of the vehicle he had stopped to avoid being hit by Oldacre's vehicle. The Trooper was hit with car debris from the collision. Oldacre then exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot but was quickly tracked down by police.
