Colonie PD investigating armed robbery at local Sunoco

Robbery suspect (Colonie Police Dept.) Robbery suspect (Colonie Police Dept.)

COLONIE, N.Y. -- The Colonie Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at the Sunoco A+ Mini Mart.

Police say the suspect was armed with a long barrel black revolver and demanded money from the clerk at the 62 Exchange St. location. The clerk gave the suspect less than $100 from the register and the suspect fled on foot and may have gotten into a vehicle last seen headed west on Exchange Street.

No shots were fired, and there were no injuries to the clerk.

The Albany Police Department was notified about the robbery since police say it appears to be the same suspect as a robbery they are investigating that occurred on Sunday.

The suspect is described as a white male, 6'0", 215 pounds, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with a gold zipper and a multi-colored scarf covering his face. Police say he is armed with a black long barrel revolver.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the Colonie Police Department at 783-2744.
