ALBANY, N.Y. – NY State of Health, the State's official health plan marketplace, says over 380,747 have enrolled for coverage since the launch of the Marketplace on October 1, 2013.
A total of 230,624 New Yorkers enrolled through December 24 for coverage
starting on January 1, 2014. State Health Commissioner Nirav R. Shah, MD, MPH,
detailed these numbers today at the Joint Legislative Public Hearing on the
2014-2015 Health and Medicaid Executive Budget Proposal.
The NY State of Health open enrollment period for individuals runs through March 31, 2014. New York is on track to meet or exceed its enrollment goal of 1.1 million people by the end of 2016.
"We're very pleased that activity on the NY State of Health site continues to be high. Since December 24, more than 150,000 New Yorkers have enrolled for quality, low-cost health insurance," Donna Frescatore, executive director of NY State of Health, said.
