MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. – State Police arrested two for possession of heroin and marijuana in Mount Pleasant.
On February 2, just before 2 a.m., State Police pulled over a red Lincoln for an equipment violation on the Sprain Brook Parkway in the Town of Mount Pleasant, Westchester County.
talking to the driver, Katherine P. Martyn, 28, of White Plains, the
Trooper observed marijuana in plain view. Both Martyn and the passenger
of the vehicle, Christopher M. Ortiz, 28, of Yonkers were detained as
police conducted a further investigation.
In addition to 1 gram of marijuana, Troopers located four small plastic envelopes containing a total weight of 1 gram of heroin during the investigation.
License checks of Martyn and Ortiz revealed a stay-away order of protection against Ortiz, naming Martyn as the protected party. Both were arrested and transported to SP Tarrytown for processing.
Martyn and Ortiz were each charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
Ortiz was additionally charged with Criminal Contempt in the 1st Degree, a felony.
Martyn and Ortiz were released on Appearance Tickets. Martyn is due back in the Town of Mount Pleasant Court on February 6, and Ortiz is due back in court on February 13 at 9:30 a.m.
