New Scotland man arrested for alleged grow operation

NEW SCOTLAND, N.Y. – A 56-year-old man faces charges after police say he was growing cannabis and possessed marijuana.

The New York State Police Troop G BCI arrested Lawrence Eaton, 56, who lives in the town of New Scotland on January 29, for unlawfully growing cannabis and possession of marijuana. The arrest came after the execution of a search warrant at his residence.
The search warrant was the result of a long term investigation by Troop G BCI personnel after allegations were made indicating an illegal marijuana grow operation at the residence. While searching the home, police found over 50 marijuana plants in various growth cycles being cultivated with professional style lighting, ventilation and nutrients.
Eaton was processed at the New Scotland barracks and issued appearance tickets to appear in the town of New Scotland court on February 6, 2014. The investigation into marijuana sales in the town is continuing.
