ALBANY, N.Y.-- A man pleaded guilty in Albany County Court to stealing union funds on Wednesday.

Steven Green, 49, of Hoosick Falls, pleaded guilty to one count of Attempted Grand Larceny in the third degree, a felony.

While president of the Amalgamated Transit Union, Green allegedly stole $3,863 from the union pension fund account and $19, 219.18 in union funds consisting of union dues and vending machine payments between September 1, 2011 and August 2, 2012.

Green reimbursed the union for $3,863 stolen pension fund money.

He now faces one to three years in State Prison when sentenced on March 19. In addition to prison time, Green will be ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $22,540.61. This dollar amount was calculated to be the sum Green still owes from the theft.
