County Executive recognizes Grammy winner

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy honored The Albany Symphony Orchestra and Conductor David Alan Miller Wednesday morning.

The recognition is for the winning of the 2014 Grammy Award for Best Classical Instrumental Solo.

This is the first Grammy award for the Albany Symphony Orchestra- which was recognized for its recording of John Corigliano's "Conjurer."

"I was just thrilled and the thing is once you win they immediately take you backstage like the academy awards- and you get to thank other people you forgot to thank on stage, so by the end of the hour you have been shuttled around you really think wow this is a really big deal," said conductor David Alan Miller.
