SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Saratoga Springs Mayor Joanne Yepsen gave her first State of the City address Tuesday night.

The auditorium inside the City Center was packed for her speech. Many people chose to wear T- shirts both for and against putting a casino in the Spa City.

Yepsen outlined an ambitious agenda pledging to work with the city council and residents on the tough issues. She said she didn't support the referendum on casinos, but now that's it's a reality, it is important it be handled responsibly.

The new mayor also called for more accountability and transparency when it comes to city government.

"I will work with the city council to clean up," she said. "We appoint citizens to our boards and committees, so that appointments cannot be made in the dark of the night or in the final hours of a mayor's tenure in City Hall."

Yepsen also made some announcements. She told the crowd she's creating the first ever business advisory council to ensure the continued prosperity of Saratoga Springs.
