SUNDERLAND, Vt., - Vermont State Police have announced the arrest of a mother in connection to an AMBER Alert which was issued on Monday night.

According to Police, they received a tip that indicated Patricia Kane, 49, was at the Canoe Restaurant in Hanover, New Hampshire along with her son, 12-year-old Zachary Lee. An AMBER Alert was activated at 8:35 p.m. on Monday after Zachary did not return to his foster home after school.

Authorities say they responded to the restaurant, but found that Kane and Zachary had already left. However, they were told Kane was looking for lodging. She was then tracked to the Lyme County Inn in Lyme, New Hampshire, say police.

Zachary was located, alive and well at the Inn. He was returned to the custody of the Vermont Department of Child and Family Services.

Kane, of Manchester, Vermont, was taken into custody without incident by the Hanover Police Department and New Hampshire State Police.

Vermont State Police say a fugitive hearing in New Hampshire has not been schedule. Kane's hearing is based on the Vermont arrest warrant for charges of custodial interference and 2nd degree unlawful restraint. She is being held in lieu of $200,000 bail.

As Kane is extradited back to Vermont, she faces a felony conviction with imprisonment of five years or a maximum fine of $25,000.00, or both.

Zachary was reported missing from his foster home in Sunderland around 4:45 p.m. Monday when he did not arrive home from school after being dropped off by the bus.
