Albany Symphony Orchestra to be honored for Grammy Award

ALBANY, N.Y. -  Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy will honor a local orschestra and conductor for their 2014 Grammy Award this week.

The Albany Symphony Orchestra and Conductor David Alan Miller won the Grammy Award for Best Classical Instrumental Solo. McCoy will honor Miller and the Orchestra on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. at The Palace Theatre in Albany.

This is the first Grammy award for Albany Symphony Orchestra, which was recognized for its recording of John Corigliano's "Conjurer," featuring the Albany Symphony and percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie.
