FDNY Firefighter Races return to Hunter Mountain

HUNTER, N.Y.--The FDNY Firefighter races return to Hunter Mountain for the 41st consecutive year on Tuesday.

Teams of five firefighters will dress in full gear and attempt to navigate through a race course while carrying a 50 foot fire hose.

The winners of Tuesday's race will earn the chance to move on to compete in the East Coast Firefighters race on Wednesday, January 29, for the East Coast Championship title.

Proceeds from the events will be donated to the NY Firefighters Burn Center Foundation.

"We are pleased to have had the opportunity over the years to help charities that are near and dear to our heart such as the NY Firefighters Burn Center Foundation. We look forward to the continued support of all of our firefighter participants and hope to see the event grow year after year," said Joe Jove, retired FDNY Fireman and event organizer.
