Albany man sentenced for residential burglary

ALBANY, N.Y.-- An Albany man was sentenced to 3 1/2 years in State Prison in Albany County Court on Monday.

Janiek Roberts, 18, pleaded guilty to one count of Attempted Burglary in the Second Degree, a felony, on October 15, 2013.

On August 14, 2013, Robert and co-defendant Na'quan Morris, 17, of Albany, both allegedly entered a residence unlawful while the owner was asleep. While inside, both Roberts and Morris allegedly stole an Xbox gaming system, games, a laptop computer and the victim's car.

Morris previously pleaded guilty to one count of Attempted Burglary in the second degree, a felony and was sentenced to 3 ½ years in State Prison followed by three years of Post Release Supervision.
