HUDSON, N.Y. – A mother has been arrested after police say she left her child home alone.
New York State Police say they responded to a report of a 6-year-old child calling 911 and telling dispatchers she was home alone and scared.
According to authorities, Troopers and Hudson Police Officers found the child was home alone for several hours.
Several hours later, the child's mother was located by police. They say Limika Walls, 27, was found in an "apparent impaired condition." Walls was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
NYS Police say Walls became uncooperative during processing, leading to an additional charge of obstruction of governmental administration in the 2nd degree.
Walls was arraigned in city court and remanded to Columbia County jail in lieu of $250 bail.
The 6-year-old girl is in the care of the Columbia County Child Protective Services.
The case is still under investigation by NYS Police and CPS.
