BRUNSWICK, N.Y. – State Police say they arrested two people for stealing baby formula.
According to authorities, Nicole Dejesus, 30, and John Mollica, 61, have been charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, and Conspiracy.
State Police in Brunswick say the pair was observed in a vehicle on Hoosick Street, which was known to be involved in several baby formula larcenies in the Capital Region.
The Trooper was able to identify the passenger as Dejesus, a suspect for a larceny of 16 cans of baby formula taken from a Price Chopper the day before, say police.
During the traffic stop seven more cans of baby formula was found, Dejesus allegedly admitted to stealing the cans earlier that day with Mollica.
Mollica and Dejesus were taken to the Brunswick barracks and charged with Petit Larceny, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th, and Conspiracy 6th. Dejesus was also charged with an additional count of Petit Larceny for the prior day's theft.
The pair was arraigned and remanded to
the Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $50,000 bond.
