Court appearance adjourned for teacher accused of hitting student

SOUTH GLENS FALLS, N.Y. - A court appearance for a South Glens Falls teacher, accused of hitting a student with a ruler, was adjourned Thursday morning.

The attorney for Michael Yeager asked for a continuance, and was granted one.

Following an investigation by the school district, Yeager was allowed to return to the classroom early last month.

Yeager is accused of stricking a student on the back of his head on three separate occasions, twice with his hands and once with a ruler, according to State Police.

Superintendent Michael Patton won't go into detail on the investigation, saying it is a personnel issue.

Yeager is due back in court on February 20.
