MAYFIELD, N.Y. – New York State Police say a man has been ticketed for operating a snowmobile while intoxicated.
Troopers in Mayfield responded to a call of a snowmobile crash in Northampton on Saturday, January 18. They say they found a 2003 Arctic Cat snowmobile at the scene, after it collided with a tree in a field.
According to authorities, the operator of the snowmobile fled the scene, but Troopers was able to find the man because of footprints in the snow.
NYS Police say they arrested David Mazzone, 45, after it was determined he had a BAC of 18-percent. Mazzone was ticketed for operating a snowmobile while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a snowmobile accident, and imprudent speed on a snowmobile.
He will be in court on Thursday.
